About Karla.

Karla, a Licensed Professional Counselor and NASM-Certified Personal Trainer, is a committed advocate for the powerful connection between mental and physical well-being. Her work is rooted in a core belief: true wellness begins when the mind and body are treated as one unified system, each influencing and strengthening the other.

For more than a decade, she has supported clients across private practice, schools, hospitals, and mediation and court settings. These diverse environments have allowed her to work with individuals and families facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the everyday stressors that accompany being human. No matter the setting, her approach remains steady—grounded in empathy, informed by evidence-based practice, and centered on creating a space where every person can heal, learn, and grow.

It was through her own journey with strength training that Karla came to fully appreciate what research confirms: building physical strength enhances emotional resilience, confidence, and mental clarity. Experiencing this transformation personally—and witnessing it professionally—reshaped her approach to care. She recognized that healing and conditioning are not separate pursuits, but interconnected processes that strengthen one another.

This realization led her to create a distinctive three-tier model within her private practice: traditional counseling, integrated counseling combined with strength training, and standalone personal training. Each tier is intentionally designed to support whole-person wellness—bridging clinical expertise with performance-based training in a way that is both research-informed and innovative.

Her commitment to integrated wellness extends beyond the therapy room. As the creator and host of The Mental Lift Podcast, she brings meaningful conversations about mental health and physical fitness into the spotlight.
